Efforts Towards Harm Reduction Overshadow Efforts Towards Treating Addiction in Switzerland
Switzerland is often hailed as a success for lowering drug overdose deaths among its residents. But closer inspection reveals Swiss public health officials and policymakers aren’t solving the addiction problem, they’re merely putting it off.
Addiction Treatment Still Badly Needed in Germany
To the casual observer, it would appear that Germany has escaped much of the worst effects of the worldwide opioid epidemic. But this is not entirely true. While Germany has implemented many harm reduction programs to help cover up the problem, actual addiction treatment resources (what helps people break free from addiction permanently) are still badly needed in Germany.
