Most of My Life I Would Spend Every Dollar I had on Drugs

Man walking on the beach

For me, since I was 14 years old, I have been in and out of trouble, whether it was the drugs controlling and influencing me or the bad impulsiveness taking over. Most of my life I would spend every dollar I had on drugs.

I always said I wanted this and that but never got close to achieving what I wanted. Now I know what I want and where to start.

Waking up every morning and thinking about how to make money, either what to sell or whatever, becoming friends with my drug dealer just so I would have a free “fix” in the mornings so I could work the rest of the day and not be sick.

This is not a way to live.

I have seen friends die and friends hospitalized. And I myself have overdosed.

This is no way to live.

I have tried prescription drugs to get off other drugs but they only increased my addiction to other drugs and made my tolerance higher. So when my family found NARCONON, a drug-free rehabilitation center, no medical drugs to help wean myself off, I was happy that I could lose all my addictions.

Today I’m in the program and getting better day by day.
